Pre-Holiday Rockville Ride 12/11 @ 10am

It has been many moons since we've done this ride. Stairsteps, drops, singletrack, crashes, oh my! Come check out some of the most fun riding in the Bay Area. Good technical stuff. You don't have to be in great shape to do this ride (thankfully). But you betta have some skills bwoy! (Photo of Dawn unsuccessfully negotiating the stairsteps courtesy of Mark Davidson. Sorry Dawn.)

See the comments link below for directions and an extended description of the ride.

Description: technical riding at its best. It's not called Rockville
for nuttin'. 8-12 miles of mostly singletrack, including rock
gardens, stairsteps, steep drops, smooth rollers, tree lined trails,
and limited climbing (yeah!). You don't have to be in super shape for
this ride, but you should have some MTB skills. This is not a first
time beginner ride. However, you're skills will improve regardless of
what level of rider you are (assuming you don't break anything). Plan
on a late lunch afterwards. Expect about 3 hours for the ride. If
you've never ridden here, you're missing out on some great riding
(you generally won't find this kind of riding anywhere else in the
Bay Area). Plenty of re-groupings. If we have a big turnout we can
split the group by fitness level if y'all want to - this ride is
meant to be fun though so leave the race attitude at home brah.

Directions: get to the 680/80 merge at Cordelia. This means taking
680 north across the Benicia bridge, or heading east from 80/SF, or
    west from 80/Sacramento.

Exit Suisun Valley Rd off of the 80. If you see Scandia Fun park on
the right when heading east on 80, you missed the exit. If you see
the 680 off ramp when heading west on 80, you missed the exit.

Head north across freeway on Suisun Valley Rd. Solano C.C. will be on
right. Follow until you hit Rockville Rd. Turn left. Follow for a bit
and look for fenced in parking on the left. Carpooling is strongly
    recommended.

For time reference, plan on about 30-35 minutes from Walnut Creek
    (680/24 interchange).

Some of the Cinderella Dirt ladies have been inquiring to riding this weekend, so you might get a handful more women joining us, if that's ok. You don't still have that cooties-complex, do you?

Mike, I insist that you admit that even though I showed a bad start, you were begging me to join TWW after our first trip to Moab.
I would love to join you on your Rockville adventure, but, I have to wash my hair that day.

You know we love you Dawn even though you did defect to that "other" club. Actually, i think you have the story reversed - you saw all the stud muffins on this team (okay, maybe just one), and wanted in. I have to admit though singing Wham songs with you in the van made me think that this chick is alright and would be a good fit for TWW.
