Downieville Classic Registration Opens tonight at 8pm!!!

You aren't going to miss out on this, are you? Incredible riding - singletrack up the wazoo, baby heads, lung busting climb (wait, that wasn't fun), serious schmack running at the campfire, hangin' out at the river, Nick's BBQ?, and good times.

Don't forget about the TWW Mountain Man (or woman) Challenge - do both the XC and DH and the combined time gets bragging rights (and maybe this year we'll make an official trophy). Frankie-baby won it last year but you can be certain that won't be happening again. I'm having my named engraved on that trophy in advance of the race...

Oh, the supply will be epic. Big Sky Brew will be mackin' us out big time.

It is going to be off the hook baby! Can't wait!!! So much fun you'll think real hard about crossing over from the dark side...

sorry gin, i am temporarily hijacking this post...

    Ov--- YOU'RE WHAT!!??
I can see skipping out on beautiful Madera to go to crappy old Santa Barbara...
But skipping district races just to play in the mud and drink beer--that is just wrong! unaccepatable! intollerable!

you just wait. I'm telling Pascuzzi...

Ok, Gin, you can have your blog back now...

Pab, you need to have a taste of the dirt... D-ville is about as good as it gets. Classic old school point-to-point rugged course. High altitude. Incredible scenery (and the vistas and mountains aren't too bad either). Great riding - a true MTB race. None of this multi-lap sanitized BS that the pros race on today.

We're doing our best to get oV to cross over... the dark side is powerful but it can be defeated.

Besides....someone will need to be there and pick up Gin's shattered ego when I greet him at the finish line with his cold brew in my hand...half gone.

Thanks Pab Vader... you may have won round one, but watch out for the Force. It should be strong competition to big-S and Campy.

Come on now, work with me on this Star Wars/Kung Fu theme thing:

VB = Princess Leia (talk about some flair in the hair)

oV = Anakin Skywalker (except in reverse order)

Pab = Pab Vader (he is pretty tall but the hillbilly look kinda makes this a stretch - Chewbacca might be a better choice except for he's on the good side)

Frankie = Obi Wan Frankobe (basically we needed an old guy to fill this role)

Keith = Hand job Solo (all that time on the ranch and nothing else to do except "plant a vineyard".

Rookie Boy = Puke Skywalker (like duh, that was an easy one)

Nick = Jabba the Nick (a picture is worth a thousand pounds)

MG = Kwai Chang Caine (except a real chinese guy this time)

Okay, I'm in for the DH and XC. Groovy baby! Last name is spelled G-I-N for the trophy engraver, got it?

good thing you told him....those 15th place trophies are priceless. The pebble may have been snatched...but the stones are still intact. You are in for a ass kicking ala Chris Machon style....you ever wonder why he doesn't come around anymore? He challenged me at D'ville and I neutered him without any remorse. Don't wake the retired giant...whatcha gonna do when the Frankie machine blows by you??

  • At 4/18/2006, Blogger ginmtb said…

Hell I blew by Chris big deal. Now we need to track his sorry a$$ down and get his money for the TWW clothing he bought and I shipped to him (daggonit I didn't know he hadn't paid). Chris, if you're reading this, I know where you work so be afraid, very afraid...

Unfortunately his stuff is waaay too big oV otherwise I could've gotten you some of his stuff.

ok...MikeyWanCannoli, I'll give you credit for passing up CM but don't think that it will be easy. The bar is set and you don't even have to limbo to get under it ;)
