New Mastercard Commercial

Suh-weet new full boinger frame with custom paint job - $1,500

Suh-weet SRAM X.0 drivetrain & shifters - $400

Electrical tape to secure the disk brake hydraulic cable to the frame - just wrong.

There are some things in life that money can't buy... like a good mechanic. :)

(FYI - they do make these fancy cable guides with a sticky back - you might want to get a couple).

Careful there with the barbs, Gin-man, they done pissed the Bellas off something fierce this weekend .

    Better be nice.

So, what i wanna know is why there aren't some classy braze-ons to route that cable through. Instead there are the unused canti mounts. They look pretty clunky sitting there unused...

and, Gin, you don't EVEN want to see the franken-action needed on the cable housing. oy.

but, results are results ... she had zero shifting issues during the mudbog session. now, we'll just need to head over to the LBS and get:

    1) actual derailleur cable housing
    2) ferrels that fit and weren't cannibalized off of 3 different bikes
    3) housing doo-kickeys that you're so hip on
    4) canti-plugs to please da' PABS
    5) and a gawdamn ultrasound machine to clean all our chains from this frickin' rain/mud/dirt crap weather!

I know, my 0.3 megapixel camera just blows. But that's all I've got for the mobile blogger.

I agree, there should be some suh-weet braze-ons for the cables. But hey, they got the cool custom paint, more than we can say by a lot.

In my band wannabe days duct tape was the key - we called it "musician's edge".

Dood you da man for cobbling that bike together and having better performance than VB initially indicated (almost no mechanicals). Kudos. I'm known in a few circles as MikeGuyver, so I know what it means to make stuff work with virtually nuttin'.

No drivetrain mechanicals at all during my race.

And that was after slogging though mud and plucking the bike out of a tiresucking peat bog. There really wasn't a non muddy spot on the course by the time we got there and I had not a single problem with shifting, no chainsuck, nada to blame my slownees on.

Yeah, I wish I could've blamed my slowness on something - no shifting or chain suckage on a SS. I did offer to rebuild this damsel in distress' "bottom bracket" but they said they had everything okay. Just trying to be a good samaritan you know...

Oh and I think these thangs have VB's bike written all over them:

    Hope Frame Hose Guide

A little bling is always a good thing.

her mechanic spent all weekend in the garage

working on her bike, and all the other 3-4 gal's bikes that were staying there....

occasionally we'd entice him out of the garage with some food (pizza)
