I just heard from Berry, who is down in Monterey putting the finishing touches on the Cross Country course.

He suggests riders use toe spikes on their shoes. To quote "Those that have them will be glad they did, and those that don't will wish they had."

Evidently, there are a couple of fire road climbs that will be too slimy to ride up next Sunday, and climbing them on foot today was almost impossible. More rain is forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday, so conditions aren't expected to change.
