Anyone else feelin' this way?

Downieville is done with, the DSL connection is on the fritz (45.2K dialup as I type), body feels tired, bikes are growing cobwebs, and remodeling ideas are starting to float through my head.

Maybe my cross debut will have to wait another year...

You've been trumpeting your cross debut far & wide, Gin. You've got to do at least one race.

Cross is short. A couple of hours on one day in a weekend and the rest of the time you can remodel to your heart's content.

Just suck up & do it! You can't be any more burnt than all the roadies who've been racing every weekend since January. What did you do, two races this season?

Come on Gin, I thought we were going to make our cross debut together, well at least with you a lap behind me.

Ouch, VG has some TWW in her... :) I did do more than 2 races, give me a little credit.

I know, I'm whining - not sure how those roadies do it. But seems like this happened to me after D-ville too. Shoot, my tire is still flat from D-ville.

I'll rally, but will take a little time off. I'll be there at a cross race or two, if nothing else to get the money laying on the ground with the Caltrans guys egging me on...

Well, I'm a roadie who's been doing some mtn bike races this season. Here's my guess. Mtn bikers crack a beer (or two or three) after the race. Roadies crack a beer after the season.

I think I like mtn bikers better (and I don't drink).

    Mikey,

I'm kinda feeling that way myself. So what I'm doing now is cross training....running, riding my cx bike, drinking beer & wine, and eating a lot! Follow that up with 17 days in italy and baammm...you'll be ready for cross season. Oh yeah and don't forget to throw in a generous amount of sex. That always seems to help ;-)

You know I'll be at the VB races... if nothing else to chat up a few of my favorite Bellas...

Oh I mean to race and crush the competition (in the C's).

It always feels difficult getting going. Only gets worse with age. Don't wait until next year. Urbina was not going to get going because he did not feel ready the beginning of the year. His results are not reflecting that early season feeling. When you are feeling down, it can only get better, we hope. If not for the bad times, we would not have good times. So just keep pushing and get your butt out there.

    Bob,

geezus Gin, what's the bumper sticker say...shut up and ride!

Come out to the DFL series in September...wear your dress, show off those smooth legs, and get into shape for the real cross season in October. That fantastic team, Roaring Mouse, will have a tent at all the Pilarcitos races and if you smile real purty, we'll hand you a beer.
