Hint - the image has nothing to do with the quote, other than the kid is a dutch boy.

I really have no idea what this is.
An ad for a business that sells really ugly couches and lamps..... to the Dutch????

Yeah, I'm probably the only one that remembers this. Guess the odds of one of the 4 people who read this blog knowing that quote is pretty slim. But it was from a commercial in the Bay Area.
I guess I'll have give another clue or three...
1) It was on radio
2) From the 90's
3) Sporting goods store in SF
And the little fellow is from the Dutch Boy paint ads but as I mentioned has nothing to do with the quote.
Ahh, heck*, I'm probably the only one that finds this funny. Next post...

I tried to be humor-ful-ous...
Speaking of which, there are some perfectly awful posts over on my blog receiving very little attention lately.
I know I suck at this, but if I don't get encouragement I'll never improve....
Now, where have I heard THAT before?

Hey, can't be worse than one that you have to explain and people still don't get it.
Actually, if you heard the commercial you would just crack up... or maybe not. Maybe it's just me and the twisted mind. Okay then, there it is.

You know, I grew up in the bay area, but really haven't spent much time there (other than weekend bike races) since the late eighties.
Seems that during my absence, all the radio stations have changed formats--seems like I can never locate a good one on the dial when I am there. So in goes a CD.
Therefore, I seriously doubt if I ever heard the commercial you are referring to.
Same goes for bunnyx.
Ov--he was in another state
VB--not exactly a bay area person
So Gin, I think you and I both need to work on expanding our blog audiences....
twisted?--that's a good start!

Alrighty, this post clearly is waaaaaaay to obscure. But I'll do my best to explain the commercial. I believe it was for Lombardi Sports and aired on Live 105 when it was cool (Big Rick, Johnny Steele, etc.). It was Tour time and they did this spoof with a French rider with a really cheesey franche accent. He used that classic line to the Dutch rider. I believe another line was, "Oh, ze Germain rider... perhaps I should let him go by."
Okay, time to move on. Back to the sex posts and related accoutrements...

I love this. I was just doing that impersonation last week. I would love to get a copy of it...
